Paper Gallery, together with the Prishtina Biennale, in collaboration with the Green Foundation, as part of the project “In Our Hands”, organized two events to mark Earth Day, April 22.

The first event was the screening of the documentary “Food Waste: Public Dialogue on Reforming Food Systems in Kosovo”, addressing the environmental, ethical, socio-economic, and political effects of food waste in Kosovo. The film was developed within the framework of the initiative Let’s Talk About Food Waste, implemented by the Green Foundation. The documentary was shown at Paper Gallery from 10:00 to 17:00 (every hour).

On the same day, starting at 15:00 at Paper Gallery, a discussion was held on environmental activities in Kosovo and raising citizens’ awareness of environmental issues. The panel discussion featured Xhevdet Gegollaj from the Green Foundation.

The Green Foundation is an environmental NGO based in Prishtina, established in 2014. Its ideological framework is based on the values and principles of Permaculture, and its mission is to develop sustainable and long-term urban and rural solutions for harmonious growth in Kosovo. The Green Foundation supports the principles of open culture and the circular economy. Since January 2020, it has implemented the initial phase of the pilot initiative Let’s Talk About Food Waste, which aims to launch a public dialogue on food waste and food waste reduction strategies in Kosovo through community engagement and the piloting of innovative solutions.
